Scales and Tails is the result of the passion and experience of Stephanie Cross and her Husband Joe. Stephanie has been in love with all animals her entire life. Our of school she started working with horses and living on a horse farm. Several years later she started working in the pet retail industry as an animal care taker with the former Pet Life stores. After Pet life was bought out and she witnessed the corporatization of almost all the small retailers in the state she decided to tackle the problem herself. With the business background of her Husband Joe, Steph made the goal of starting a locally owned pet retailer that truly focused on the wellbeing of our furry and scaley friends. Today Steph rescues reptiles and breeds Mice, Rats, Gerbils, and Bunnies. She spends hours a day with her animals ensuring they are healthy and social. Redford (On the Right) is at Scales and Tails daily, but on any given day you are likely to see another one of her animals, like baby bunnies, Lizards, or Snakes.
