Doggie Depot was created in June of 2006 with a simple goal: Provide a fun and safe environment where dogs can play while you’re away. Colleen and Brian McLachlan have been involved in the doggie daycare industry for years, first as customers, then industry observers, employees and owners. As life-long lovers of Golden Retrievers, it just made sense for us to love your dogs as well.

Doggie Depot is proud to offer overnight boarding for our daycare guests. All boarding guests must fulfill the same requirements as our daycare dogs. (Please see Daycare Enrollment page for information.)

All dogs play together during the day in the daycare environment and are kenneled individually in over-sized crates at night. Instead of being locked up in a kennel run all day, your dog romps around with his/her friends and staff members. We offer soft bedding in each crate, but encourage you to bring anything you think will make your dog’s stay more comfortable. We will keep your dog in the same crate each night.

General Guidelines:

  • Dogs must be at least 16 weeks of age
  • Dogs are required to complete an interview process
  • Dogs 7 months or older must be spayed or neutered
  • Dogs must have up-to-date vaccinations including Rabies, DHLPP (Distemper) and Bordetella as required by your veterinarian
  • Dogs must be in good health
  • Dogs must be on flea/tick preventative and heartworm medication
  • Dogs must have completed enrollment forms and credit card number on file

Our background in the corporate world has taught us to love a good form as much as we love our dogs. Please read and complete the forms below so we can get your dog ready for daycare. If you have any questions, please give us a call and we will be happy to help you. Thank you!

In order for your dog to become one of Man’s Best Friends, he needs physical exercise, mental stimulation and good manners. Learning obedience behaviors plays a part in all of these areas. The ability to learn is affected by the methods used. We believe no-force positive reinforcement training (such as marker/clicker training) sets the stage for dogs to learn in a safe and stress free manner.

Training then becomes a fun game which produces a happy well-behaved dog.
