Ted's Pet & Feed

The big red barn on the corner of 180th and Burnham has been home to Ted’s Feed Store for over 70 years. With the charm and warmth of a family feed store you will find a wide selection of quality pet food and supplies.

Bulk seed is still scooped fresh by the pound. Ted’s also carries food, treats, toys, cages, bedding, and feeders. A selection of birds, bunnies, and small animals are available for sale and add to the enjoyment of shopping at Ted’s. Bird services such as wing and nail clipping are available by appointment. We are also eager to serve our customers with special orders.

While shopping at Ted’s you will have an opportunity to meet our staff who together has more than sixty years of combined pet and wildlife experience. Customers appreciate the warm greeting and discussing their pets needs with our knowledgeable staff. Our employees enjoy assisting customers in selecting products to care for the pets. Returning customers who are satisfied and enjoying their recent purchases make us feel great!

Originally Ted’s Feed Store hatched baby chicks and sold feed and eggs to local farm families. Ted, perched on the feed barrel with his pipe, awaited the next customer and carried every purchase to their car. Ted’s wife, Annie, together with her children and grandchildren, who are still involved in the business have added products to meet the needs of the growing community. In May of 2016 a second location was added in Schererville to better serve our northwest Indiana customers. It includes a state of the art grooming salon and self pet wash. In the years to come we will continue to serve the Lansing and Northwest Indiana communities with a large selection of pet products, experienced staff and as always free carryout service.
