Massachusetts native, animal lover, and army veteran Brian DeVasto left "the corporate world" to purchase Tatnuck Pet Supply in early 2018. He currently lives in Marlborough with his wife Julie and adorable Chihuahua/Beagle mix Pedro, and is excited to be a part of the Tatnuck community!

Hey everyone -

It's Brian DeVasto, owner of Tatnuck Pet Supply, and I wanted to reach out to all of you with a few details in follow through to the fire that swept through the store earlier this week.

First, if you haven't heard - Tatnuck Pet Supply was pretty much, if not completely destroyed in a fire on Wed Nov 13th.  The true cause is still being determined but the fire started in the postal store next door, spread quickly through the ceiling into my store, and eventually through to the store next to us as well.  Beyond the roof, there wasn't too much fire damage, per se, but the fire department had to fight the fire through the store itself, and 90 minutes of fire-hose velocity water from in front and above the store resulted in everything being water-logged and smoke-filled - not to mention 2+ feet of water in the basement. Therefore, none of the product in there Wed morning is sellable.

The good news is no one from any of the stores involved was hurt, Tatnuck Pet Supply will be rebuilt in the same spot, and we'll be back in 2020!  Additionally, the outpouring of support the store has received from our customers, direct competitors, vendors, personal friends, and family, has been overwhelming and appreciated!  In what is a challenging time in our country, there's no politics when a calamity happens, and humanity is showing its full bloom for me, my team, and Tatnuck Pet Supply as a business - you're reading the most sincere thank you I've ever written!

In the meantime, until the store is rebuilt - conservatively 6 months from now...yeah, it's gonna be a while - you can order almost everything we had in the store online, and, at least for the immediate future, we're going to deliver it to you for FREE!
